General Information
Packaging
It is not necessary to pack the motorcycle. Please note that we can only accept a limited amount of luggage to ensure safe handling of the motorcycle. The seat must remain free, side cases and top cases or side cases and a luggage roll on the luggage rack are no problem. The key for the panniers must be attached to the handlebars with a cable tie.
Transportation to Valparaiso in our motorcycle container
For the period from fall to winter, we offer regular collection containers for unpacked motorcycles to Valparaiso. The departure is arranged according to the arrival dates of the travelers, you book your flight and we transport the motorcycle to its destination on time. The necessary interim storage in Germany or Chile takes place in a secure warehouse and is included in the price. It is possible to collect the unpacked motorcycle from you.
Transportation back
Return transportation from Valparaiso to Hamburg takes place from January until around mid-April. The departure takes place according to the delivery situation, from experience about every 4 weeks. At the destination for one-way transportation
After your arrival, you contact our local partner and together we clear customs. Now the motorcycle is just picked up and off you go! The time required is about 1 day.
At destination when booking both transports
After your arrival, you contact our local partner and together we clear customs. Now all you have to do is collect the motorcycle and off you go! A few days before the return transport you contact our forwarding agent and coordinate the delivery of the vehicle. At the end of your vacation, the motorcycle will be handed over after customs clearance and everything else will be organized by our local partner and us here in Hamburg.
Customs
To our knowledge, a Carnet de Passage is not mandatory throughout South America. For the final import of vehicles, please contact the automobile club or the local customs authorities for binding information.
Contract and payment
Once you have decided to book, we will draw up a forwarding contract, which you sign and return to us. The first partial invoice for the transport will be issued shortly after you pick up/drop off the motorcycle; we do not charge a deposit upon conclusion of the contract!
Transport insurance
We offer optional transport insurance against total loss and transport damage to the motorcycle. The premium is 0.95% of the vehicle value, with a minimum of € 160.00 per journey. Paint damage and oxidation are excluded, vehicles over 9 years old can only be insured against total loss. Unfortunately, any luggage sent with the vehicle cannot be insured. We recommend that you enquire about luggage insurance. In the event of damage, this must be visible from the outside, the excess is € 500.00 per claim.
Prices
The costs up to a motorcycle width of 90 cm from Hamburg to Valparaiso are € 1350.00 flat rate per motorcycle. The return journey is charged at € 1550.00, booking both routes costs € 2650.00. Each additional 10 cms is charged at € 110.00 per direction. Group discounts are available for bookings of 5 or more motorcycles. Prices are based on current rates and include current fuel, dangerous goods and security charges as well as all port and handling fees.
