Motorcycle transports to the U.A.E.
General Information
Packaging
For transportation to the U.A.E., the motorcycle must be packed, preferably in a box or crate, to prevent damage and theft. Just talk to your local motorcycle dealer, they are usually happy to dispose of the outer packaging of new vehicles free of charge. You will usually have the best luck with dealers of Italian or Japanese brands. Alternatively, you can purchase a standard motorcycle crate from us, which can either be delivered to your home or you can pack the motorcycle at the airport or port. Additional luggage can also be stowed, provided it does not contain dangerous substances in accordance with aviation regulations. (e.g. methylated spirits, engine oil, spray cans) It generally saves money to keep the crate as small as possible, e.g. remove the front wheel…. Our prices are calculated individually, so please provide us with the length, width and height (remove mirror / windshield!) and weight – primarily the volume is decisive, so the smaller the crate, the cheaper the transport costs.
For problem-free import and export in the country of destination, we recommend a Carnet de Passage which is only available from the ADAC. For the final import of vehicles, please contact the automobile club or the local customs authorities for binding information.
In addition to transportation by air, we also offer sea transport. We have forwarding contacts in Dubai, Muscat and Tehran. We can also transport to other destinations, but we have no economic connections there. You also have the option of booking one-way transportation only, fork transports and an outward journey by air, return journey by ship or vice versa are also possible. Packaging tips.
Air freight
Possible delivery locations are Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart and Munich. On request, the transport crate can also be collected / delivered to you. The motorcycle will be dispatched approximately one week before departure to ensure that it arrives on time.
After customs clearance – which must be carried out by the traveler himself (time required approx. 3-5 hours) – the motorcycle is simply unpacked and off you go! In the meantime, the empty crate is stored or, in the case of one-way transportation, simply left behind. A few days before the return transport, you contact our forwarding agents and coordinate the delivery of the vehicle. At the end of the vacation, the motorcycle is loaded back into the crate and everything else is organized by our local partner and us here in Hamburg. The return transportation is calculated at approx. 10 days.
Our service includes transportation and handling for the outward and return journey. The storage of the empty crate as well as the current fuel, hazardous goods and security fees are also included. The costs are based on the size of the transport crate and amount to approximately € 5,800.00 for a standard touring enduro for round trip transportation.
Sea freight
Delivery is only possible in Hamburg. If desired, the transport crate can also be collected from you. The motorcycle will be dispatched approximately 3-4 weeks before the start of the journey to ensure that it arrives on time. The crate is loaded into a container in Hamburg, so it is protected from sea/salt water. After customs clearance – which must be carried out by the traveler himself (time required approx. 1 day) – the motorcycle is simply unpacked and off it goes! In the meantime, the empty crate is stored or simply left behind in the case of one-way transportation. A few days before the return transport, you contact our forwarding agents and coordinate the delivery of the vehicle.
At the end of the vacation, the motorcycle is loaded back into the crate and everything else is organized by our local partner and us here in Hamburg. The return transportation is calculated to take about 6-8 weeks. Our service includes all port fees, transportation and handling for the outward and return journey. Storage of the empty crate and the current fuel, dangerous goods and security charges are also included. The costs are based on the size of the transport crate and amount to around € 3,500.00 for a standard touring enduro for return transportation.
Transport insurance
We offer optional transport insurance against total loss and damage to the motorcycle. The premium is 1.6% of the vehicle value, at least € 160.00 for the entire trip. Unfortunately, any luggage stowed in the transport box cannot be insured. We recommend that you enquire about luggage insurance. The damage must be visible from the outside and the excess is € 500.00.
