Packaging
For transports to South America, the motorcycle must be packed in one case. Just talk to your local motorcycle dealer – they are often happy when the overpack of new vehicles can be disposed free of charge. Best try your luck at one of the dealers of Italian or Japanese manufacturers. Although many brands have already converted to returnable packing, you should give it a try! You will save hard cash if you keep your box as small as possible, e.g. by removing the front wheel.
Alternatively, packaging can take place via an enterprise in Hamburg determined by us. Please note that transportation costs are higher in this case, since – due to liability reasons – no parts of the motorcycle may be removed and thus the packaging will be more spacious. Further package can be stowed unless hazardous substances according to aviation regulations are involved (e.g. batteries/accumulators, methylated spirits, motor oil, aerosols).
Our prices are calculated individually, so please inform us about length, width and height (please remove mirror!) as well as weight. Primarily, volume matters! The smaller the box, the cheaper the transportation costs!
For a trouble-free import and export in your country of destination, a so-called Carnet de Passage is recommended. It is exclusively available at automobile clubs (in Germany ADAC). Please note: For some countries in South America it is not mandatory. For a binding information concerning final import of vehicles, please be addressed to the automobile club or the customs authorities at the destination. As an agent for transport services, we are, inter alia, reliant on forwarding companies at the destination. Especially in case of exotic destinations, price determination requires a considerable amount of time.
In many cases, costs are in no relation to the whole vacation. At all times, the preparation of a quote is free of charge. This belongs to our philosophy of service. However, we kindly ask you for your understanding in case of a rejection of your enquiry due to liability risks and reasons mentioned above. Please contact us for further information.
Air freight – Oneway-Transport
Potential delivery points are Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart and Munich. Upon request, collection/handing over of the transport box can be effected at your premises. After payment of local airport fees in the amount of approx. US$ 300.00 and customs clearance have taken place by the customer himself (approx. time duration 3 to 5 hours), your motorcycle just needs to be unpacked and off you go! The empty box will be left at the destination.
The costs are based on the height of the transport box and amount to approx. € 2,200.00 plus South American airport fees for a standard touring enduro.
Sea freight – Oneway-transport
The only potential delivery point is Hamburg. Upon request, collection/handing over of the transport box can be effected at your premises. About 4-5 weeks prior to departure, your motorcycle will be shipped. Thus, on-time arrival is guaranteed. After payment of local port fees in the amount of approx. US$ 400.00 and customs clearance have taken place by the customer himself (approx. time duration 3 to 5 days), your motorcycle just needs to be unpacked and off you go! The empty box will be left at the destination.The costs are based on the height of the transport box and amount to approx. € 800.00 plus South American port fees for a standard touring enduro.
he prices are based on current rates and include present fuel and security charges as well as fees for dangerous goods besides German clearance charges.
As an option, we offer a transport insurance against total loss and transport damage of your motorcycle. The premium amounts to 0.95% of the vehicle value, at least € 95.00. The insurance does not include baggage jointly stowed with the motorcycle. We recommend enquiring about a luggage insurance. The damage must be visible from outside, retention comes to € 500.00 per claim.
It is possible to retrieve or deliver your motorcycle in a transport box via truck featuring lift and pallet cart.
